Worksheets provide the student with thought-provoking questions which press him/her to analyze each worldview from the perspective of the scriptures. Supplemental
reading provides detailed information on each worldview, giving students the opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of topic matter.
Graphs and scoresheets are created using statitstics from CIA World Factbook and FreedomHouse.org. The curriculum concludes with summaries and analysis based on score marks for each religion, government type, and nation.
How does one discern from which tree they are being fed? Do you feast on God's truth from the Tree of Life? Or do you dine from the tree of knowledge?
You MIGHT be surprised! Because the tree of knowledge often sounds pretty good. But that tree is where the world's version of religion comes from...and that tree leads only to destruction.
Why I Wrote this Curriculum
This journey began for me as a result of the destructive act of terrorism against the United States, which took place on 9/11/2001. A series of questions arose in my mind, and when I asked God why, He quietly placed in my heart a vision of a curriculum to teach to my children and others, “What people believe about God, and about themselves--matters. 9/11 happened, not primarily because of money or politics, but because of Christ - because darkness hates light." And so He and I began the task of “fleshing out” the vision He placed in my heart that day. It has been a long time, now, into the 11th year. I taught it to students in a homeschool co-op for four years, and then others taught it for three more years. Since then it has been taught in other venues and has continued to evolve. Over 700 pages, loosely encompassing history, geography, Bible, world religions, government, and a variety of other topics have blended, blurred, and re-emerged in unique ways. Somehow, God has kept me energized and enthusiastic all this time, and I still find these topics fascinating and relevant. This book, Views Of Man, is the resulting first volume of what hopefully will become several volumes, if God continues to inspire me in that direction.
When I began this journey in 2002, America was a much different place in many ways-at least on the surface. Patriotism after 9/11 was high, and people were seeking God. As a nation, we seemed to know that we needed to get close to our roots. "What roots are those?" you may ask. Continue to the next page: Our Mission. :)
